Vigee.Art, a blockchain-based NFT marketplace, emerged amidst the challenges faced by artists during the pandemic when traditional avenues for showcasing and selling art were restricted. With public spots and events closed, artists sought alternative means to monetize their work, leading to the surge in popularity of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Understanding the need to provide artists with a platform to sell their artwork and foster a supportive community, Vigee.Art aimed to create the first community-based marketplace for artists, thus turning to our team for assistance in development.

The Vigee.Art platform was conceptualized as an ecosystem that fosters solidarity within the artist community. In addition to enabling artists to exhibit and sell their artwork, the platform facilitates support for cultural initiatives among community members. To address specific requirements such as low fees for tokenization, fast and secure transactions, and sustainable blockchain technology, the decision was made to build the marketplace on the Algorand platform. Algorand s carbon-neutral blockchain network, low transaction costs, and high throughput aligned with the project s goals. Integration of Smart Contracts was facilitated using the PyTeal python library for implementing complex logic efficiently.
