Vicrez

eCommerce Solutions

From Legacy Storefront to Headless Commerce

Automotive

problem

Vicrez is an aftermarket automotive parts company whose e-commerce site had quietly turned into a growth blocker. The platform was aging, slow to respond, and getting harder to maintain as the catalog expanded. Customers felt it in the browsing experience, and internally the team felt it even more. Simple product updates or marketing changes took more effort than they should have, because the backend just wasn’t built for the scale Vicrez was reaching.

As traffic increased, the cracks became harder to ignore. Page load times started to hurt conversions, and everyday operational tasks required workarounds that drained time and focus. The business was growing, but the infrastructure wasn’t keeping pace. Vicrez needed a modern e-commerce platform that could handle performance reliably, support a larger catalog, and give the team direct control over both commerce and content without constant friction.

solution

We rebuilt the system around a headless e-commerce architecture designed for speed and flexibility. Commerce, content, and presentation were separated into distinct layers so each part could evolve independently. That separation is what allows the platform to scale cleanly, instead of forcing everything to move in lockstep whenever a change is made.

Medusa now runs the commerce backend, managing products, orders, carts, subscriptions, and integrations with tools like SkuVault and ShipStation. For search and caching, Meilisearch and Redis keep catalog navigation fast, even under heavier load. On the content side, Strapi serves as a decoupled CMS, giving the marketing team freedom to manage campaigns and editorial content without touching the commerce engine.

The storefront itself is built in Next.js, delivering a fast, modern shopping experience while keeping the architecture modular. New features, redesigns, and performance improvements can be introduced without destabilizing the system or forcing a rebuild. It’s structured to grow with the business rather than hold it back.

results

The result is a platform that gives Vicrez a stable base for long-term growth. Even in the pre-launch phase, performance gains over the legacy system are clear. Backend workflows are simpler, product and content management are easier to maintain, and the architecture is already prepared for higher traffic and a larger catalog.

Vicrez is now operating on a scalable headless e-commerce platform that supports continuous improvement instead of resisting it. The system can absorb growth in traffic, features, and operational complexity without recreating the same limitations that slowed the previous platform.
